New goods terminal meets future demands

On September 4th, Tollpost Globe inaugurated a new goods terminal at Alfaset, the junction for the total Oslo area. The new terminal has a price tag of NOK 130 million and is considerably more environmentally friendly than the old one.- Customers and employees both will enjoy the changes from day one. Our aim is to offer cost effective and environmentally correct goods transport to and from the Oslo area, says Robin Olsen, Tollpost Globe’s managing director.

The new terminal differs from the old one on three points:

  • The surface area has been increased from 8 000 to 12 880 square meters.
  • The capacity has been increased from 4 000 to 12 500 items per hour, triple the old capacity.
  • A new and modern system for sorting and distribution has been installed providing better flexibility also for smaller parcels.

The transport industry wants to focus on efficient and environmentally friendly rails transport.

– The National Transport Plan has provided us with a financial lift through investments in goods transport on rails, both for junctions and crossing lines. The future growth of goods transport will take place on rails, and we are preparing for this situation, says Mr. Olsen. Please contact: Communications- and Market Manager, Mr. Ole A Hagen (m): 0047 41 32 80 87
