Additonal service: Tollpost Giro Consignment
Tollpost Giro Consignment is the solution when the recipient is to cover the product- and/or freight costs prior to delivery of consignment, and when sender wants Tollpost Globe to be responsible for controlling that the amount has been paid.
On using giro consignment, the giro amount must be paid to bank/post office by recipient prior to delivery against copy of bank/post office receipt. The giro form may be produced by sender/salesman or Tollpost Globe if advance agreement has been made.
- The sender himself produces and sends the giro form: The Logistra PartLink program and corresponding software contain functionality for generating the giro form including two bank-/postal giro copies of receipt.
- Tollpost Globe produces the giro form and sends it to recipient: Giro amount and account number to be stated in electronic consignment information or in the consignment note's box 32, and the text "giro consignment" in the consignment note's box 14, alternatively in box 38. Bank/-postal giro form including two copies of receipt will be issued and sent by ordinary mail to recipient.
One receipt, including the receipt from bank/post office, to be delivered to Tollpost Globe on delivery of the consignment. The giro amount cannot exceed NOK 100,000 per consignment. Each unit in the giro consignment must be labelled with "delivery reservations", either on the bar code label or by using a separate label to be attached to the unit on the same side as the bar code label. Tollpost Globe only accept responsibility for giro consignments complying with the above conditions and an EDI-message, if any, has been transmitted within the agreed time limit. Tollpost Globe does not accept liability in case it appears that the account does not cover the giro amount, signed by bank or post office. This also applies in case the goods recipient makes the bank or post office remake/annul a giro transfer after presentation of giro receipt, or in any way documents a giro transfer that has not taken place. A giro form with "received for settlement of accounts" added, will not be accepted. The giro receipt must positively show that the amount has been paid and charged to the account. Owing to the banks' and the postal authorities' rules and practices, it is possible that instances may occur where the sender is not guaranteed to receive the remitted giro amount. In case the consignment has been delivered to recipient without payment of the giro amount, Tollpost Globe is obliged to compensate the amount, still limited to the value of the consignment. In case delivery has taken place based on forgery or the like, Tollpost Globe does not accept liability. A giro consignments fee will be calculated, please see price list at
