Tollpost Globe hit by strike

Tollpost Globe was Saturday morning hit by strike. 202 good assistants at Alfaset, Kolbotn and the cold storage terminal in Oslo initiated a strike. This will in reality paralyze all activity at the terminals in the Oslo area and quickly have consequences also for other parts of the country.

The parties included in the Transport Agreement did not manage to arrive at an agreement after having negotiated for five hours on overtime. The Norwegian Transport Workers’ Union (NTF) consequently decided to carry out the previously notified collective notice for their members.

Tollpost Globe’s services will be severely hit by the strike. Only the so called consignment freight, i.e. goods forwarded directly from one customer to another without transport via terminal for re-loading, will be carried out as usual.

-We are continually assessing the consequences for the company in order to adjust the manpower in relation to the decrease in goods volume, says Mr. Robin Olsen, CEO of Tollpost Globe. – We are extremely sorry for the inconvenience this strike will cause our customers.

The goods volume decrease equalizes about 30,000 parcels or 1,200 tons of goods per day.
